Meet the Surgeons & Staff

Dr. David Brown and Dr. Roderick Capelo are currently accepting new patients with pediatric orthopedic concerns. Both doctors have Fellowship specialty training in Pediatric Orthopedic Surgery and have been residents of North Texas for over ten years. Our patients are not limited by age, but typically range from birth to 25 years old. Conditions commonly treated by our physicians include simple and complex fractures, sports injuries, scoliosis, cerebral palsy, hip dysplasia, limb deformities, and hand injuries.

David S. Brown, MD

A native Texan, Dr. Brown grew up in Houston before graduating from The University of Texas at Austin, with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology. He received his medical degree from UT Southwestern Medical School in Dallas and completed his internship and residency at John Peter Smith/Fort Worth Affiliated Hospitals. He then completed his fellowship training at Children's Hospital in San Diego. He is a Board Certified Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeon. Dr. Brown is married with two daughters.

Roderick Capelo, MD

Dr. Roderick Capelo is a native Texan and received his Bachelor of Arts in Biology at The University of Texas at Austin. He then graduated from UT Southwestern Medical School in Dallas. He completed his internship and residency at John Peter Smith/Fort Worth Affiliated Hospitals. He then went to California to complete his fellowship training at Children's Hospital in San Diego. Dr. Capelo is Board Certified in Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgery and is a Diplomate of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.

Paul Boerger, RN, MSN, cPNP

Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner

Paul Boerger was raised in Texas and completed his undergraduate degree at Angelo State University and his graduate degree at the University of Texas at Arlington where he received his Masters of Science in Nursing in 2007. Paul worked as a genetic counselor in Houston and in the emergency department at Cook Children's Medical Center before joining our practice.

Paul is a member of the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners. He is also actively involved in the community through mentoring adolescents and serving as a deacon at Meadowridge Community Baptist Church. He is a team captain for the Tarrant Country Race for the Cure and has participated four years.

Paul is married and has two daughters. When he is away from the practice, he enjoys being with family, his church, and being outdoors mountain biking and camping.

Jennifer Nance, DNP, MSN, cPNP, RN

Doctor of Nursing Practice and Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner

Jennifer is a native Texas who grew up in the Fort Worth area. She completed her undergraduate degrees at Texas Tech University and Texas Christian University. Her post-graduate work was completed at Case Western Reserve University in Ohio. She received her Doctorate of Nursing Practice in 2008. Jennifer gained her experience in pediatrics at Cleveland Clinic Children's Hospital and University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital in Ohio. Upon returning to Texas, Jennifer worked in orthopedics at Texas Healthcare's Bone & Joint Clinic Fort Worth. Jennifer also volunteered as a counselor at a pediatric oncology camp each summer while completing her course work.

When away from the office, Jennifer enjoys being with her family and spending time outdoors cycling and hiking.
